King County Park Ambassador
Clare Nance is a great addition to the Friends of Cedar Creek Park King County Park ambassador who is your point of contact for the park.
She is the liason between King County and the community of park users. You, the park users, are the eyes and ears of the park. Your input and observations are key to keeping the park a great place for everyone. If note any issues such as illegal cutting of trees, garbage dumping, ORVs in the park, trees over the trail, or other issues please contact her at: cedarcreekpark2013@gmail.com
As a resident of Cedar Downs, adjacent to the park, she has spent many hours enjoying the park's trails and beautiful forest
New Trail at Cedar Creek Park
Last winter the trail gnomes from King County Parks worked with local volunteers to create a new outer loop connection from the Cedar Creek trail to the the Maple Valley / Covington Connector trail.

This outer loop replaces the old social trail that led out to the gas pipeline right of way. Now the new trail is within the current park boundary and won't be affected by the upcoming development of the gravel pit.

Be sure to check it out. The easiest way to find it is to hike out from the Wild Cedars trail. Take a left at the T and then take a right at the Y towards the northwestern end (way past the new log bridge over the creek) of the Cedar Creek trail. Then follow that trail to the bottom where you can go either left or right to connect with the Connector trail.
Lisa Parsons, was nominated for the Cox Conserves Heroes Award for her work on advocacy, conservation, and stewardship of Cedar Creek Park and the Green River Gorge Greenway. She received $5000 to donate to the Nature Consortium to create a Photography in Nature workshop.
