Community members have been working with Friends of Cedar Creek Park, King County, R.E.I., Washington Trails Association, Middle Green River Coalition, and others to create a loop trail through the beautiful forested Cedar Creek Park.  The trail will introduce the community to this amazing natural area located between Covington and Maple Valley.  There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, and a dedication of a bench for past Maple Valley city councilman who was instrumental in preserving the park.  We'll have food, kids educational hikes, and tours of the park's trails.  We will also be have a digital photo and video contest.  Photos and video will be taken on the day of the event and will be submitted online after the event.  Theme is "What I discovered about Cedar Creek Park".  1st place winners will have their photo and video featured on the front page of our website for the month of June and there will be prizes for the best photo and video.  2nd and 3rd place will be featured on our Cedar Creek Park web page.  Come meet your neighbors and explore your Big Backyard!
